In retirement, many individuals have the opportunity to explore new passions and interests. One meaningful way to do this is through art, which fosters creativity and provides a means of self-expression and personal fulfillment. However, many people struggle with feelings of loneliness and uncertainty after retiring. I certainly did; I found myself aimlessly watching TV with only my dog for company, despite my excitement for this new chapter in my life. A friend suggested that I explore a hobby, which led me to consider various activities. While reading and woodworking didn’t interest me, I decided to try sketching. Despite my lack of experience—I couldn’t even draw a straight line—I bought some supplies and discovered that drawing brought a positive change to my life.

Despite the challenges, encouragement from my family helped me discover my potential and sparked my journey into painting. I’ve developed my artistic skills, and I want to help you navigate your own path.
